Multi-Site Conference Highlights
I flew into soggy Seattle with my son Levi, who is a senior in high school. We had coffee at the first Starbucks, drove around Bill Gates place at Microsoft and had dinner at the Space Needle. On the way, we spent two days at Mars Hill Church with Mark Driscoll, Dave Browning and John Bishop for the Multi-Site Exposed Conference by the folks at Leadership Network.
The conference was not what I expected...it was better. Techheads in cyberspeak is what I anticipated. Instead, I listened as seasoned leaders wrestled with ancient theology in a modern age. Just as the Reformers dragged the church kicking and screaming into the age of print, so these pioneers are sharpening doctrine as they plant churches through the internet and satellite downloads.
Here are the highlights. Interested? There are two more conferences coming this year.

It’s About CHURCHES Not Download Sites
We have found that each campus must function as a complete church. If you want to be a multi-site church, make sure you start a church and not just an event.

It’s About LEADER Growing Not Church Planting
We are not in the multi-church business; we are in the leader deployment business. It is all about leaders: identify, deploying, etc. If we have a leader we will have a site. If we don't, we won't.
Dave Browning, Lead Pastor Christ the King Community Church
It’s About RELATIONSHIPS Not Technology
We think we can go as far as relationships will take us. That can be anywhere. Some of you are thinking of where you can start across town, but think bigger than that, where would God like to go?
Dave Browning, Lead Pastor Christ the King Community Church
Best Practice IDEAS from the Multi-Site Veterans
Multi-site campuses allows people to be better cared for. The bigger we get the better we care for people because we are able to specialize and develop.

Leadership GEMS
If you don't make changes you will lose new leaders and new opportunities. If you do make changes you will lose old leaders and old opportunities. One way or the other you will have losses; you must make a choice of what you will lose.

APOLOGETICS for the Multi-Site Church
Today there are more screens in churches than in movie theaters in America. How many people are working to create movies for movie screens? How many are thinking of how to create quality content for screens in churches?
